TRMC Mourns Loss of Board Member Royce Carr

Titus County Hospital District (TCHD) Board of Managers and the entire Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Team are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Board Member, Royce Carr.  Royce passed away Thursday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 72.

Don Lowry, Chairman of the TCHD Board, said, “It’s with great sadness that I announce the passing of our friend and fellow Board Member, Royce Carr. Royce has served as a Board Member for 7 years and we are thankful for his outstanding leadership, friendship, guidance, and wisdom. His kind and caring spirt will be greatly missed by his fellow board members and his community.”

Titus Regional CEO Terry Scoggin shared, “Royce was passionate about his role on the Board.  He was driven to ensure Mount Pleasant would always have high quality health care close to home.  He was an ambassador for the Stroke Service Line sharing his experiences with everyone.  Royce was a friend and mentor.  He will be missed!”

Royce served as a member of the Titus County Hospital District Board of Managers from 2017 through 2024. Royce was known for his generous and thoughtful personality, encouraging attitude, and selfless concern for others.  One of Royce’s most remarkable qualities was his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.  He listened with empathy, understanding their struggles, and extended a helping hand.  He was well known for his kindness, sense of humor, and generosity.   The entire Titus Regional Team extends continued prayers and condolences to his wife Deborah, his three sons, and extended family.
