Summer is one of the most challenging times of the year for our nation's blood supply. As schools are out, families travel, and regular routines change, blood donations often decline, even though the need for blood remains constant.

We were honored to recently welcome Baby Nasar, the first baby born in our newly renovated Labor & Delivery birthing suite.

For Baby Nasar's family, these first moments together were made even more special thanks to this upgraded space. Designed to keep families together through labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care in one private room, the space gave Dad a comfortable place to rest with the Murphy bed while staying close to Mom and baby every step of the way.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of such an unforgettable day, and thank you to Stansell Construction LLC for donating the beautiful gift basket, as well as their partnership in bringing our renovated birthing suite to life.

This UV Safety Month, Family Nurse Practitioner Autumn Barnard reminds everyone that excessive sun exposure can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses.

"If you experience dizziness, confusion, nausea, rapid heartbeat, or stop sweating after spending time in the heat, seek medical attention immediately."

Drink water regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty, wear sunscreen and reapply often, and take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Enjoy the sunshine safely by protecting both your skin and your overall health.
