Diabetes Care and Education
The Diabetes Self-Management Education* Service at Titus Regional Medical Center has been awarded continued recognition by the American Diabetes Association. The DSMES service was originally Recognized in 2003. Our expert healthcare team offers both inpatient and outpatient services of a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator. All approved education services develop individualized participant education plans that include any of the following topics as needed: diabetes disease process; nutritional management; physical activity; medications; monitoring; preventing, detecting, and treating acute complications; preventing, detecting, and treating chronic complications through risk reduction; goal setting and problem solving; psychological adjustment; and preconception care, management during pregnancy, and gestational management.
When teaching meal planning for diabetes, our dietitian considers many factors including the individual’s food preferences, cultural background, work and sleep habits, medications, medical history and lifestyle. Our staff focus on personalized care and teach a wide array of techniques to help you live well with diabetes.

You are also invited to take part in our monthly Diabetes Support Group, held the third Tuesday of each month (excluding June, July and August) at 4 pm in the Conference Center, located 3rd floor of Titus Medical Plaza.
