TRMC & Region 8 Host Concussion Educational Conference

On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, Titus Regional Medical Center in collaboration with Region 8 Service Center hosted their first area Concussion Educational Conference. This three hour seminar focused on the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of concussion in student athletes. With over 200 in attendance, the conference offered evidenced based education from Physician Medical Experts, a licensed trainer and one former NFL Football player regarding how these injuries occur, proper treatment and how that treatment can make a difference in the changing the lives of athletes.

Speakers for the conference included:

TRMC recognizes that athletic events are a large part of the culture in the communities we serve.  We believe that both recognizing the signs and symptoms of concussion and medical follow up using evidenced based treatment is vastly important in caring for our student athletes. Titus Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that we are currently working with multiple area schools to conduct baseline concussion testing for student athletes. This important prescreening will allow coaches, athletic trainers and physicians to properly evaluate the athlete after a suspected concussive injury. These tests are offered free of charge to our area schools. TRMC is committed to offering quality care to our community, and our student athletes are an important part of that commitment.
