The flags in front of TRMC, the Hinton Building and the Patty & Bo Pilgrim Cancer Center are being lowered today in honor and in memory of Dr. George Smith.
Titus Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Ron Davis states “Our hearts are deeply saddened by this loss. Dr. Smith has been a pillar in the medical community of northeast Texas for several decades. He was well-respected for his expertise in emergency medicine and liked by all members of our healthcare team. He played a pivotal role in the growth and advancements of our Emergency Department and Trauma Center. Our condolences are with his family and with our hospital staff. He will be greatly missed.”
Dr. Smith passed away unexpectedly Thursday from a massive heart attack. He had been a key emergency room physician at TRMC since September of 2003.
