The Foundation would like to express its appreciation to the dedicated group of volunteers from the TRMC Respiratory Department, TRMC Community Loyalty Team and the Chapel Renovation Committee, including Cindy Gaskin, Doris McCune, Allison Barnhill and Sharron Bonner and who took the lead on the garage sale event from start to finish.
“TRMC employees have again demonstrated the meaning of heart and teamwork in striving for and reaching an important goal,” said Foundation Coordinator Lynda Stringer. “We are excited for the work to begin on the hospital’s new chapel.”
Sharron Bonner, TRMC’s case management director and chairman of the Chapel Renovation Committee, said the kindness and caring of each employee who contributed, donated, and helped with the Garage Sale for the chapel project is “a great testament to the true heart of the TITUS team.”
“The warmest of thank yous can’t even begin to express what a wonderful group of loving people that strive each day to make a positive difference in the lives of the patients and families we care for daily,” Bonner said.
The new chapel will serve as a comforting sanctuary for patients’ families, TRMC chaplains, local clergy and the hospital staff who deal with heartbreaking situations on a daily basis.
Foundation Executive Director Gordon Hall said construction is expected to begin on the chapel project this summer.
“The expansion in size and the renovations, including a stained glass window and pews, will significantly improve the hospital’s ability to serve the community in such a personal way,” Hall said.
